It's been so long ago so I'd thought I'd say hello and make a little update of where I am in life, art and everything.
It's been a really silent year. Silent yet curiously busy. As you might know I got fed up with being unemployed last year - having been unemployed for nearly 1,5 years already - and applied to vocational university for a short but really intensive re-education. I finished my last painting (I dream of nature) just in time for the first semester/term and from then on studies were an ever rolling stone in a permanent state of downhill.
Studies requires a lot of brain-power, a lot of time and a lot of sitting down. Art is ecactly the same. But only one of these leads to a decent job with a steady montly income. There had to be a brutal choice.
A little demonstration if you don't mind. One school year is 40 weeks long, with 2 weeks off roughly in the middle during Christmas/New Year. Completed and ongoing courses includes (with various pace and workload):
* Anatomy and the study of deceases --> lasted 24 weeks
* Workplace psychology --> lasted 18 weeks
* Medical documentation --> lasted 21 weeks
* Medical terminology --> lasted 26 weeks
* IT for administrators --> lasted 29 weeks
* Typing course (lasts all two years) --> 39 weeks duration so far
* Written communication (3 weeks every semester/term) --> 6 weeks of duration so far
* Work practice every semester --> 2 + 5 weeks so far.
The numbers don't quite add up if you just do the courses one after the other. All of these have been wrapped on top of each other, with the very least three or four of them simultaneously (at one memorable point six of them). Conclusion? Loulin have been very very very very busy this past year. It feels like that's all I've been doing: eating, sleeping, studying. No art for Loulin
BUT... Turns out that it only took one week of summer holiday.... just one!.... then all of a sudden the good ol' neurons fired up and produced a couple of brand new ideas. Which just goes to show that art is never far behind if you just relax and switch off the study-mode.
Currently I have 10 weeks of official holiday but soon I'll be doing some summer temping on the local emergency where I last had my work practice. Holiday is one thing - not getting any student allowences during that time is another (and it's such an important merit for future employments).
Art will probably continue to play second fiddle for some time, although I will definitelly try to be a little productive with one or two ideas until school starts again in August.
My dear friends and followers, please continue to have some patience. Art will resume properly again, only just not now.
The end is nigh! The end of the list that is....
AnnaFromTheTrain Meet Anna from Georgia. She is both a book illustrator and art teacher. She works in both watercolour and digital and gets inspiration from nature and people. There are lots of colourful gems in her galllery.
Seanash101 from South Africa also likes the traditional mediums, like pencil, but isn't a stranger to digital as well.
NikaLorrraine from the US is the next traditional artist on the list, who likes to combine the grey of pencil with a little colour. Check it out.
Eldr-Fire from UK draws a lot of inspiration from history, myth and legend into her artworks, which is a colourful display of just the same. Also expect a fair amount of fan-art.
And here at the end, a mention of Darkhorseman81, tatamack, MavroTheMaverick, velardezcecilia, AliEmreDogan and BlueRose000 who doesn't upload much of their own but are watchers on my list.
And that's it, folks. That's the list of watchers, from my last batch of features to today. I hope you have enjoyed the arts and the artists.
Hello friends!
Sorry about the sudden absence of feature last week. It's been a lot lately with life in general. I've just completed 5 weeks of practial placement as a part of my current re-education to become a medical secretary. That's 5 weeks of daily total "brain-porrige" of exhaustion. Still so much left to learn. 1 year almost done and 1 year to go before I've finished.
Onward to the new selection of deviations from my watchers.
Emyii-90 from the UK is a big fan of the natural world. Among other places, she likes to visit the zoo and capture its residents on camera. She also finds inspiration at home and while traveling.
vagabond-mm Although this artist also likes to travel and capture nature on camera, it's the first time in a long while I get to present a photo manipulator! This artist's themes ranges from the comical to thought provoking to beautiful.
DukeNukem4ever2 doesn't have much in his gallery but he likes to write. He's mostly inspired by RP.
Lupo-alla-Luna from Italy likes to draw humans, fanarts, animals and mythological creatures. And lots of it!

BabyMessina89 from Italy also likes to draw fanart from various shows and games but there is also the occasional original art as well. Colour, action character!
And lastly a mention of latiakool, NadeeSong, sfrancois, chillmonster and alisson778 who doesn't have many deviantions of their own but are watchers on the list.
(Next feature will be the end of the watcher's list - for now )
New weekend, new feature. The list goes on.
maybuchanan We start off in the US with traditional artist May Buchanan who finds inspiration in animals and nature. Clean lines and soft colours is her game.
Amarantowa from Poland is also a traditional artist who look to nature for inspirations, but here we'll also find photography and the odd crochet project.
brennennn from the US is always at the front when it comes to community. He is a senior member, he is a traditional art CV (community volunteer), he admins several groups, posts features/news/interviews AND writes his own story and poetry among other things. It's a real irony that his avatar icon is a sleeping emoticon because this fellow is all but lazy.
OltScript313 This deviant from France has many interests in life but among these we'll find both a passion for music and a joy for MLP.
Hikinggirl85 hasn't been a member for DA particularly long but her gallery is already filled with wonderful photography from her hiking life. It's all about the natural world for this UK girl.
cjmartin87 from US is passionate about photography but isn't shy to other mediums as well like crafts and collages.
ariya-sacca is also from the US. He likes to do a bit of everything, like paint and draw, write and sculpt with wire.
FabioRosado It's all about fantasy, myth and epic storytelling for Fabio from Portugal who likes to make fact documents of characters and creatures he finds fascinating.
ikazon is another DA member with both history and seniority. Avid badge collector and Community moderator he sees himself as a storyteller, which we definitely can read in his vast collection of prose and poetry throughout his gallery.
With this we end this weeks's feature. And remember - I have not thrown away a single feature I've made, they are all still there in my journal history should you want to see them.
Lastly a mention of Tipurbanstyle and wjs0013 who doesn't upload much but are a followers on my list.
Thank you for waiting, everyone. It's been a rough few weeks with four exams, one re-exam and the first week of five at my designated place of practice.
Anyway... At last a new upload of features. (And as always - all my previous features are remain in my journal history should you want to go back to previous posts)
