Description
June 2016 (4)
There is very little to do during the last weeks of work before vacation. So what do I do to pass the time? I paint of course!
Painted from photographic reference. The photo was taken by me after high school when a friend and I went travelling through Europe. When we got to Paris I saw this fountain with a macabre mix between a lion, a goat (horns) an eagle (feathers), a dragon (membrane) and a sea-serpent. Of course I had to take a picture of it.
I did not use the entire photo but did a cropped and scaled up version. In the aftermath I should have made it even bigger. A lot of my smallest brushes were used to this one.
Technical stuff: Watercolour with a minute aid of masking fluids.
Size: 17 x 14 cm / 7 x 5,5 in
Time: Since I made it at work there was no official time-keeping. About 5-6 days of work. (The lineart took a long time to complete on this one).
